Ian Moss (Cold Chisel), Dave Faulkner (Hoodoo Gurus), Flight Facilities, Hannah Crofts (All Our Exes Live In Texas), Lindsay McDougall (Frenzal Rhomb), Tex Perkins…

These are just a few of the names to offer up their two cents on Sydney’s live music scene.

The documentary, ‘Turn It Up, Finding Sydney’s Sound’, will premiere at Dendy Cinemas Newtown on Monday November 19.

Trish & Jodi (The Clouds), Dave Novak (Polish Club), Abby Dobson (Leonardo’s Bride), Alex Smith (Moving Pictures), and Sydney Lord Mayer Clover Moore, also feature in the film, which sheds some light on the evolution of live music in Sydney.

From the pub scene of the 80’s through to the state of the current landscape where the lockout laws have ravaged the music scene, the story of Sydney’s sound is told through personal accounts from some of music’s best.

“The lockouts are so bizarre, it’s like well what are you actually providing someone in replace of this?” says Hannah Crofts (All Our Exes Live in Texas).
